The disability writing group will begin in April 2025 and meet six times for one hour, with a maximum of four participants.
Sessions will focus on building writing skills and connections. We will workshop participants' own writing pieces, and discuss topics such as providing feedback, writing about disability, building community, maintaining practice, writing resumes, and pitching writing.

Where?
All meetings will be held online, and you can join from any device that supports internet connection.
We recommend using a laptop or tablet that has your writing piece in it to enable you to share your writing with the group.
Content:
Each group will include time to workshop your own writing piece of up to about 1000 words. Bring your writing with you, whether it’s first draft, an outline or ideas, all is welcome
Each session will include a discussion about the following topics:
First session: providing and receiving helpful writing feedback
Second session: writing disability
Third session: building a community
Fourth session: maintaining your practice
Fifth session: your writing resume
Sixth session: pitching your writing

You are welcome to move around, lay down, leave your camera on or off as you need - make yourself comfortable

Each session will go ahead once at least two participants have confirmed their attendance
To enable us to run this group for the entire term, we cannot provide a refund for change of mind
If you are unable to make all sessions but would like to join most sessions for the term, please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate
In the case of insufficient enrollment, the group will be postponed and you will be able to choose to receive a refund or keep your spot for the next group
