Is it normal to grieve when you have disability?

YES. a grief response is very normal. we're grieving who we used to be/our dreams or expectations of what life would be like.

and can last anything between a few weeks to a couple of years to subside or change.

It's also normal to expeirence grief when we expeirnece a relapse or new symptoms/diagnoses emerge.

To get through the grief, we need to allow for it to be there, acknoledge it, give it space, and find someone we feel safe to

talk to about this, as a first step.
